I liked my show the other night....
Which is good. I have been kind of bored with myself as of late but Tuesday night brought on the old Skipperiffic. I did not keep a playlist and did not record the show which is good. The best shows are the ones that happen and are off into space never to be heard from again. Aliens passing by...please enjoy the show.
Thursday Night Musical Convergence
Hey, I'm on at 9:30--I'm planning on playing lots of Ween and some late night funk. If you'd like to make a request leave a comment. Thanks for listening!
DJ Harry Luffa
PS: Hey, I didn't get a chance to log my playlist last night because I forgot my password. No log in, no playlist--do you ever have that happen? Seems I've got more passowords and usernames than I'll ever really need, but its all about security. Wouldn't want to have my DJ identiy stolen. Its a scary thought--someone could be out there right now pretending to be DJ Harry Loofah. So I make my passwords really tricky and write them down on post-it notes and the then forget where I put my notes. Its almost like I'm losing my identity all the time without anyone stealing it.
PPS: Oh, and thanks to "DJ X." Glad to have you on the show last night and thanks for picking out some great music. Had a blast.
Anyway--you can find last night's playlist here. Just click March 5th on the calendar and navigate to "DJ Harry Loofah."
Late,
DJHL

Welcome KVNF Late Night Listeners
There's change in the air--and KVNF's no exception. This blog used to showcase the Musical Convergence show on Thursday nights, but we're opening it up to KVNF's whole late night lineup.
The main idea's still the same--this is the place to drop by and make a request, to say "hi" to your favorite DJ, or to just rant about your favorite tunes.
If you'd like to make a request while the show is live call 1-866-KVNF NOW, or drop a line in the comments section of the blog's latest post. We'll check in on a regular basis.
To find out who'se live click on the "Playlists" bar at KVNF.org's home page.
Cheers, and thanks for listening,
The Late Night Alliance

2/08/09 Telluride Trip
I (DJ Harry Loofah) skied at Telluride this weekend during the Subaru Telluride Freeskiing World Tour Qualifier. On Saturday, while skiing in the Prospect Bowl and Revelation Bowl areas, I got close to Palmyra Peak, the location of the FWT main event, but I didn't get close enough to see any of the competitors in action.
I did, however, run into a super-cool dude, DJ Ryan (left), at "The Beach" in front of Lift 4. He was working out of the Subaru tent and played some great tunes--reggae, soul, hip-hop, disco. You name it. He kept everyone groovin' during the whole weekend event.
DJ Ryan works a bunch of gigs in Telluride, including shows at the Noir Bar, so if you're in town make sure you check him out. And hey, if you read this DJ Ryan, thanks for letting me get in there and play a tune--that was my "house party" debut!

The 2/5/09 Show
I'll be checking the blog tonight when I'm on the air, so if you've have requests please drop them here. Also, I don't usually put together a whole show ahead of time, but I worked this one out at home to give me a little more time to deal with the Spinitron playlist and the blog. So, if you'd like to see the playlist in advance, you can find it here.
Hope you enjoy the show.
PS: As always, there were some midstream changes to the show. You can find the final version of the playlist here.

January Shows
Please excuse the dearth of entries lately. A couple show's have gone by without comment on the blog, so here's the run-down.
The Jan. 8th show featured a guest appearance by Matt McIntire (left), a
talented singer-songwriter who moved recently from Hawaii to Flagstaff, Arizona, to work the winter as a ski instructor. He imported some tasty jams to the Western Slope while performing live in the KVNF studios.
Find out more about Matt and hear some of his latest musical creation
On Jan. 22 guest DJ Dr. Huffin' Stuff (right) helped kick off a special punk rock edition of Musical Convergence.
Highlights included a few inspired readings from the police blotter, a set of old school vinyl, and the ingestion of warm milk--the good Dr. recommends milk as a more effectual medicine than laughter. Who could disagree?
DJ Harry Loofah and Dr. Huffin' Stuff plan on putting together a hairband show at some future date--stay tuned for more information.
